Breakfast at our favourite restaurant (Shari’s) and on the road by 9. With a 5 hour drive to the Canadian border, 2 minutes with a few basic questions and we are back in Canada. Settled and hooked up in the Nk’Mip RV Resort, Osoyoos, BC until May 1.
Another 4 hour drive got us to Yakima, WA. A short drive on the I5 Interstate and onto highway 12 took us near Mt. Rainier and past Mt. St. Helens area, over another mountain pass and a long descent into Yakima, WA.
Snow, heavy rain and steep mountain passes were the start of our day. After lunch we managed to get over to the Oregon coast and things improved considerably. We were in the Astoria KOA by 4PM. A fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean is always worth stopping for. We stopped into the Ship Out Fish
Our return trip North took us through Sacramento and up to Mt. Shasta, CA. WE stayed on the I5 interstate and climbed / descended some brutally steep hills. The next morning in Mt. Shasta we were greeted with a snow storm.
We left Laughlin, NV behind and headed West to Bakersfield, CA for a couple days and stayed in the Orange Grove RV Park. Coincidently it is actually in an orange grove.
This Sunday’s road trip out of our Avi Mojave KOA in Laughlin, NV, took us out on a circle drive through the Joshua Tree National Park. A short drive to Needles, CA, avoided the $7.17 / gallon diesel pumps and out in into the sprawling desert of South East California. Through Vidal Junction and after
North East of Parker, AZ about 15 miles into the desert at the end of a very rocky rough road lies The Desert Bar. If you can stand the bouncy ride, you will be happy with what you find. On the way back we stopped at the Lake Havasu 32 Coupe car show.
