We left Reno midmorning after having breakfast at the Casino. I80 route took us up and over the pass, near the Tahoe ski area and through the Sierra Nevada range of mountains. There was some very steep climbs at first but it seemed to be easy downhill coasting the rest of the trip from the summit.

Today we passed an airfield where drones were doing circuits and into Hawkesworth which has a military base dedicated to the storage of military ammunition. We said goodbye to our friends in Scottsdale in the morning and headed west to Needles, California. The scenery wasn’t really interesting and we made it to the campsite by 4 PM.
