Saint John, NB (Last Day in Canada)

Repositioned our RV to the “WalMart Astoria” parking lot because they are closing the campground early this year. I think most this area is in a slump, a lot of businesses are closed, not a lot of traffic on the streets etc . USA bound tomorrow anyway.

Saint John, NB / Hopewell Rocks

Early departure towards Hopewell Rocks to see towering rocks and the highest tides in the world. Clear, warm and sunny! Fall colours are coming on nicely but a few more days to go. Back to the RV in Saint John by 5. Homemade supper in the camper.

New Brunswick, Saint John

Repositioned the RV to Saint John, NB today. (7 hours overall with stops) Beautiful warm (23C) and sunny day. The fall colors are starting to come out now. Bright deep reds and orange are staring to show up in the younger smaller trees. Road route was a lot smoother today. Staying at the Rockwood RV

Arrived back into the RV late last night. We decided to take a break from the travel schedule and stay another day. We spent the day helping Janice & Harvey (at Andrew’s house), Sharon’s relatives on the renovations to their house. We had a nice tailgate lunch & dinner in the evening.  Beautiful warm day.

Pubnico / Lunenburg

Had our breakfast at The Red Cap and headed out for another day. Stopped at an old woolen mill powered by water. Travelled the SE coast to Shelbourne. A very old Loyalist town dating back to the late 1700’s. A lot of original buildings are still standing and in use. Had our lunch at the

Repositioned and parked the RV into Lawencetown, NS at Sharon’s cousins place. Had lunch and took the older road toward Yarmouth on the southern tip of NS. Halifax Day Trip

Drove into Halifax and went to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Lot’s of marine hisory and items from the Titanic as well. Good value for $20/2. Walked the boardwalk and did a bit of shopping. Home to the RV for supper.

Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & SE Coast Nova Scotia

Left a bit later this morning and went directly to Peggys Cove. Also stopped at the SwissAir Flight 111 memorials. Sunny day, beautiful scenery. Stopped for lunch at Trellis Cafe, voted Prestige winner, best in Nova Scotia in 2012, great food. A movie crew was filming Beethoven’s Treasure at Peggy’s Cove. Finished up in Lawrencetown

Travelled to Wolfville, NS to meet with our neice Nicole who is attendend Acadia University. We had lunch and she took us on a tour of the bay and onto the university. In the later part of the afternoon we took a drive into Halifax to see the Fairview Cemetary where the White Star memorial

PEI / Halifax, NS

Moved our “base camp” over to Halifax today. The day started out cloudy but became sunny & warm as we moved south into Nova Scotia. (23C) Stopped for information at the Nova Scotia and met a couple from Calgary that are traveling on nearly the same route we are.
